Translating the business requirements into solutions within the possibilities of the Research Information System (RIS) Portal and implementing these with the aim of increasing the research profiling.

The implementation of a new Research Information System (RIS) has offered the university new possibilities, in particular via a Research Portal, to improve the profiling of research and researchers. Green Rock Consulting was asked to make optimal use of these possibilities by translating the university's wishes into solutions and implementing these effectively.

The wishes with regard to research profiling were inventoried at various levels via various sessions. This process led to a clear picture of how the university and its researchers would like to profile themselves.

This picture was compared with the possibilities of the Research Portal and the future improvements that will become available. Strategic choices were made about the collaboration between the Research Portal and the website, whereby the Research Portal was given a leading role in the research profiling. The renewed collaboration has had an impact on the policy for registering research output and profiling research. These policy changes have been translated into new processes, an adjusted design of the Research Portal and a renewed collaboration (management organization) with regard to registration and profiling. The necessary changes have been implemented and/or set up – in accordance with the 5D method. This has resulted in a significant improvement of the research profiling via the Research Portal.
