The assignment was aimed at enabling a university to continue to provide quantitative data for research evaluations, with regard to the research effort.

A preliminary investigation led to the creation of various scenarios with possible solutions. Based on these scenarios, the solution was chosen in which the research effort in the existing e-HRM processes could be registered, changed and removed.

The registration was later expanded by dividing the total FTE into planned education, research and other effort. This required changes in 11 e-HRM processes. In order to get a good picture of the end result, a ‘paper prototype’ was used — a global design of the process and the screens on paper.

Green Rock Consulting used the 5D method to ensure that all necessary steps of design, testing, implementation and aftercare were fully completed.

This approach led to the successful acceptance of the adjusted e-HRM processes by all faculties.
